This work-in-progress studio showing is of student work from the Choreographing Gender and Identity class.
This choreography course will endeavor to work through theories of gender and identity in relation to the creation of movement. This course will include this hybrid focus on making gendered movement and dances that express specific thematic material. In preparation for movement based research as well as class dialogue, the class will include weekly readings on gender, identity and sexuality. In a laboratory format students will also be requested to work on specific movement based assignments.
